Details Work in a high-acuity Surgical ICU (SICU) and Transplant ICU setting Patient ratio of 1:2 Care for post-operative surgical recovery patients and transplant recipients (liver, heart, lung, kidney, pancreas) Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) preferred Day shift schedule of 3x12s or 4x12s from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM Float required to other ICUs and step-down units (SDUs) No call-in requirements No block scheduling requests accommodated Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active RN license (LA state or compact) required in hand at time of submission Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (AHA-issued) Minimum 2 years of experience in SICU/transplant specialty required Hands-on transplant experience required (liver, heart, lung, kidney, or pancreas) Post cardiac surgery (directly from OR) experience preferred Prior travel nursing experience required Preferred experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps Up-to-date NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission) Two manager or supervisor references required prior to start (charge RN references not accepted) Additional Information Provide critical care for high-acuity surgical and transplant patients May be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared emergency events, requiring the nurse to remain onsite until relief arrives or the event passes Specific pay details for emergency event coverage will be communicated at the time of the event Orientation is held five days a week Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility to be considered, based on driver's license address RTO must be documented on the candidate profile and discussed during the interview Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have been separated from the facility for a full year before returning as a travel employee American Traveler Job ID P-749441.
