Medical Equipment Planner
Position Overview
The Medical Equipment Planner will support LBVAHCS by translating clinical requirements into accurate medical equipment plans, budgets, specifications, and procurement-ready packages. This role helps reduce activation risk by confirming equipment needs, identifying reuse opportunities, coordinating with users and vendors, and ensuring equipment decisions align with VA standards and healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop medical equipment plans, specifications, budgets, cost estimates, and procurement packages
- Conduct equipment inventories, reuse assessments, gap reviews, and value/cost analyses
- Coordinate equipment needs with clinical users, project teams, vendors, and facility stakeholders
- Support equipment delivery, installation, testing, activation, and move planning
- Maintain equipment documentation and support lifecycle planning
- Apply VA requirements and applicable healthcare standards, including TJC, NFPA, FDA, NRC, and AAMI considerations
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- Experience with medical equipment planning, healthcare construction, or facility activation projects
- Experience supporting equipment procurement, inventory, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination
Required Skills
- Medical equipment planning, budgeting, inventory management, and procurement documentation
- Ability to coordinate with clinical departments, vendors, project teams, and facility leadership
- Knowledge of healthcare equipment standards and activation requirements
Certification Requirement
- Relevant healthcare equipment planning or facility certification preferred
Clearance Requirement
- VA background investigation / Public Trust
