Overview
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Alturas, CA, United States. This travel assignment is a temporary hospital setting beginning 09/08/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $1,740 to $1,866 with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shifts: All shifts. The role reports to the Director of Nursing (DON) and involves collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, residents, families, and other departments to provide individualized nursing care within a skilled care environment. This position requires a California-licensed nurse, current CPR/BLS certification, and the ability to perform essential nursing duties in a dynamic, multi-department setting.

Responsibilities
- Conduct individualized patient assessments and prioritize data collection, notifying the Charge Nurse and physician of abnormal findings.
- Develop and implement an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team; perform treatments ordered by the physician (e.g., EKGs, blood draws, IV starts) and keep care areas organized.
- Administer medications following facility policy, ensuring correctness, currency, proper dosage, and timely documentation; maintain stocked medication supplies.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, responses, and progress toward problem resolution; uphold patient confidentiality and infection control standards.
- Provide patient and family education, coordinate with other departments for transfers or procedures, and participate in emergency response as needed.
- Assist with orientation of new personnel, support cross-departmental teamwork, and ensure call lights are answered promptly; maintain professional conduct and continuity of care through shift handoffs.

Requirements
- Active California LPN license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
- Ability to perform required nursing duties, including walking, bending, lifting, and safe patient handling; good physical stamina
- English language proficiency (verbal and written)
- Dependable with good attendance; strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-department environment
- Willingness to work beyond normal hours and to cover other positions temporarily as needed
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
