Specialist II, Compensation and Benefits

LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) develops and manufactures large lithium-ion polymer batteries and packs for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage applications. Summary: As a Compensation and Benefits Specialist II, you will be responsible for all aspects of the Benefits Programs, including medical and dental plans, life insurance, short/long-term disability, wellness, HSA’s, flexible spending account programs, 401k, open enrollment, workers compensation, and retirement plans. Additionally, you will working with vendors and HR/employees to problem solve issues, address concerns and ensure accurate and timely administration of the plans. Responsibilities: Provide timely and accurate day-to-day administrative support to LGESMI benefits including health, wellness, and retirement programs Ensure that employee benefits-related paperwork (e.g., Form 5500, 1095s, etc.) is prepared and timely filed with governmental entities, as required Benchmark positions against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position and prepares proposals for top management Perform quality audits of benefits-related data, including checking the accuracy of benefit enrollments in the HRIS and with the vendors, vendor billing accuracy, and payroll coding and deduction accuracy Prepare and setup benefit meetings to obtain information and explain company benefits and other related incentive programs Participate in annual benefits enrollment activities including planning, preparation and testing of online enrollment platform, as well as auditing for enrollment accuracy Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field;MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience Experience: 3 to 6 + years of hands-on HR work experience (including employee benefits/compensation and system administration) Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and compensation and applicable laws Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, Medicare, Social Security and DOL requirements Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to remain confidential and handle sensitive data Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills with high level of customer service Benefits Overview 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision premiums for you and your family 100% employer-paid disability and life insurance Generous Paid Time Off / Holidays Opportunity to grow in a diverse work environment with a global company 401k Retirement savings and planning with a generous company match LGESMI is an Equal Opportunity employer that values the diversity of its workforce.
