Patient Service Representative Mercy Clinic Women's Health - OB/GYN 8860 Ladue Road, Suite 1000 Full-Time | 40 Hours Per Week Overview Mercy Clinic Women's Health is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Patient Services Representative to join our team at our Ladue Road OB/GYN practice. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming experience while supporting the daily operations of a busy women's health clinic. The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys helping patients navigate their healthcare journey, and demonstrates exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. As a Patient Services Representative, You Will Welcome patients and verify demographic and insurance information in a courteous and professional manner. Manage patient check-in, check-out, appointment scheduling, and registration activities. Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with inquiries and appointment needs. Create and maintain accurate patient records in Epic and other electronic systems. Process scanning, faxing, mail distribution, and general clerical duties. Review schedules and coordinate with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow. Notify patients of delays and help maintain a positive patient experience. Schedule procedures, diagnostic testing, and specialty appointments as needed. Provide surgical and procedural estimates and Good Faith Estimates in accordance with the No Surprises Act. Resolve patient concerns and complaints with professionalism and empathy. Manage work queues and assist with accounts receivable activities. Balance and reconcile daily cash drawer transactions. Establish payment plans and assist patients with financial questions. Maintain confidentiality and protect patient health information in compliance with HIPAA and Mercy policies. Serve as a resource and change champion for new initiatives and Epic updates. Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming reception area in accordance with Infection Control guidelines. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to promote exceptional patient care. Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience Demonstrated proficiency in Patient Services Representative and Advanced Patient Services Representative competencies. Previous healthcare, medical office, OB/GYN, women's health, or physician practice experience preferred. Skills & Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, billing, and registration processes. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service and patient relations abilities. Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information. Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy clinical environment. Adaptability and professionalism under pressure. Physical Requirements Ability to occasionally lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
