Receptionist - Attendance Clerk for the 2026-2027 School Year

Position Details: C3, salary schedule - 188 days

Location(s): Mission Road ES

Start Date: July 27, 2026

Job Description:

• Maintain records for student attendance, check outs, etc.
• Determines appropriate processes for documenting absences in system for school and district level documentation
• Supports office staff in answering phones, greeting guests, and working with students to properly admit and document the attendance for enrollment purposes
• Maintains accurate records of parent notification of absence and tardies
• Alerts principal and school counselor of excessive tardies and/or absences
• Maintains prompt and regular attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education, Certification or Training: Minimum of high school diploma or GED; Strong organization skills; Strong computer skills – entry, database, spreadsheets; Excellent communications skills – oral and written; Customer service orientation in communicating with all stakeholders in person and on the phone.

Skills: Treats confidential information and sensitive situations with discretion; Ability to work in a hectic environment; Presents a professional image when representing BCSS through word, action and dress; Physical activities required to perform all job duties to include standing and/or sitting for long periods of time.

Experience: Previous secretarial experience preferred.
