Clove Dental is seeking an experienced Human Resources & Employee Relations Manager to oversee employee relations, risk management, and workforce compliance across multiple dental offices. Human Resources Role Overview Clove Dental is seeking an experienced Human Resources & Employee Relations Manager to oversee employee relations, risk management, and workforce compliance across multiple dental offices. This role serves as the central point of accountability for sensitive personnel matters, insurance administration, and proactive workforce management. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, highly discreet, and comfortable addressing difficult employee situations while protecting the company and supporting operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Performance Management Serve as the primary point of contact for internal staff complaints, concerns, and escalations Conduct initial investigations, documentation, and resolution recommendations in collaboration with leadership Proactively identify and manage attendance issues, behavioral concerns, and performance risks based on data, manager input, and staff feedback Coach managers on progressive discipline, documentation, and corrective action plans Support terminations, resignations, and corrective actions in compliance with California labor laws Compensation & Employment Changes Review, evaluate, and manage raise and compensation adjustment requests Ensure compensation decisions align with internal equity, performance, tenure, and budget Maintain documentation and approval workflows for all compensation changes Leave, EDD & Workers’ Compensation Manage EDD-related matters , including unemployment claims, wage verifications, and responses; update CalSavers roster Handle workers’ compensation claims from initial reporting through resolution Coordinate with carriers, brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate filings Track leave status, return-to-work requirements, and modified duty accommodations Insurance & Risk Management Maintain and regularly audit company insurance coverage, including: Professional malpractice General liability EPLI (Employment Practices Liability Insurance) Workers’ compensation Employee healthcare benefits Coordinate renewals, endorsements, audits, and carrier communications Ensure coverage remains appropriate as offices, headcount, and services expand Policy, Compliance & Documentation Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and internal HR procedures Ensure consistent application of policies across all locations Support compliance with federal, state (California), and local employment regulations Maintain confidential employee files and records Qualifications 4+ years of HR experience, preferably in healthcare, dental, or multi-location organizations Strong working knowledge of California employment law Experience handling employee relations, workers’ comp, and unemployment claims Comfort managing sensitive conversations and high-risk employee situations Experience coordinating with insurance brokers and legal counsel Key Competencies Sound judgment and discretion Clear, firm, and professional communication Ability to balance empathy with accountability Strong documentation and risk-management mindset Proactive, solutions-oriented approach Why Clove Dental High-growth, multi-location healthcare platform Meaningful impact on company culture, compliance, and risk management Opportunity to build scalable HR systems and policies Leadership exposure and long-term growth opportunity #J-18808-Ljbffr
