SUPERVISOR OF VOCATIONAL INSTRUCTION

Supervisor of Vocational Instruction Under the direction of the Supervisor of Correctional Education Programs (SCEP), and in coordination with the Career Technical Education (CTE) headquarters unit, the Supervisor of Vocational Instruction (SVI) will be responsible for every aspect of supporting and evaluating CTE programs. Responsibilities include developing program quality standards for program evaluation, communicating standards to staff and supervisors, reporting program quality formative and summative data, coaching teachers on effective instructional strategies, interpreting educational policy, and developing well‑informed policy recommendations. Responsibilities Develop program quality standards and evaluation metrics for CTE programs. Communicate quality standards to staff and supervisors. Collect, analyze, and report program data (formative and summative). Coach and mentor teachers on effective instructional strategies. Interpret educational policy and advise program stakeholders. Produce policy recommendations based on program evaluation. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, or a related field. At least 5 years of teaching or instructional experience in vocational/career technical education. Experience in program evaluation and quality improvement. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of California education regulations and policies. Valid teacher certification preferred. Desirable Qualifications Experience with correctional education settings. Demonstrated ability to lead and coach staff. Experience with policy development and implementation. Commitment to inclusive workplaces and diverse student populations. Salary $10,261.00 – $13,489.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable. Work Location California State Prison, Solano, Vacaville. In‑office work; telework not allowed.
