Shipping and Receiving CoordinatorThe Shipping and Receiving Coordinator plays a crucial role in organizing, distributing, and verifying the work of others while participating in their training. This position is responsible for maintaining, updating, and verifying the accuracy of records, ensuring the efficient processing and forwarding of merchandise, and handling all claims and queries with suppliers, freight companies, and internal managers. Additionally, the coordinator prepares merchandise for return to suppliers or delivery to customers.ResponsibilitiesVerify all incoming shipments for correct packing slip, bill of lading information, and visible damage. Communicate and follow up on discrepancies with suppliers, freight companies, and customers.Ensure merchandise is processed, labeled, and priced appropriately, and forwarded to the correct sales and storage areas.Arrange for merchandise to be returned to suppliers or delivered to customers, determining the best method of transport and ensuring shipping documents are complete.Prepare activity reports and ensure all relevant files are maintained and organized.Calculate estimated costs associated with the shipping/delivery function and recommend appropriate alternatives.Ensure the cost-effectiveness of the department by controlling labor utilization, preventing excess hours, downtime, and overtime, and ensuring efficient usage of transportation-related equipment.Promote safety policy within the department.Recommend and assist in implementing operating procedures, promoting continual improvement within the department and company.Follow ISO processes and make recommendations for improvement when applicable.Maintain communication with the direct lead and other project team members.Perform other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in shipping and receiving, inventory management, and data entry.Proficiency with ERP systems.Ability to operate a forklift.Experience in warehouse shipping and material handling.Additional Skills & QualificationsExcellent attention to detail.Capability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Solid organizational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a team.Capability to multitask.Reliability and dependability.Ability to accomplish tasks independently.Must have a valid driver's license.Must have an acceptable driving record.Why Work Here?Join a great company that offers opportunities for growth and potential to secure a direct position within the organization.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a warehouse environment, operating on the 1st shift from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of working 1-2 Saturdays a month.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
