The Opportunity

We're looking for a Lead Product Designer to shape the end-to-end experience for members. You'll own design from concept through execution for our mobile app priorities. You'll report to our Director of Product and be the design lead for this team, with the opportunity to pair with product designers working on other parts of the Carrot experience.

The work spans two levels. You'll go deep on individual mobile-first experiences, including Sprints, our program for members working on their metabolic health alongside fertility, pregnancy, and menopause care. You'll also design how distinct pieces of the member experience fit together into one seamless mobile experience.

What You'll Own

In this role, you will:

• Own mobile design end to end — concept through high-fidelity execution on iOS and Android.
• Bring the pieces together — design the information architecture and navigation that make distinct parts of the member experience feel like one product.
• Design for return, not just first use — drive adoption and retention through experiences that earn a member's attention daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Make complexity feel simple — turn large, dynamic, nuanced information into something members trust at a glance.
• Partner closely with our Content Designer so visual and written communication land as one experience.
• Ground decisions in evidence — run qualitative and quantitative research, and use it to back what we build.
• Grow our design system with accessibility, consistency, and scalability in mind.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 12–18 months, you will have:

• Shipped design work that measurably moved member adoption and engagement, with metrics you can point to.
• Conducted user research and testing and developed a sharp sense of updates to best drive member engagement and business goals.
• Contributed to our design system- letting teams ship faster and more consistently.

About You

You likely have:

• A Bachelor's Degree
• 10+ years in product/UX design, with a portfolio of mobile-first work and end-to-end ownership of complex, multi-step journeys
• Experience building and working on consumer apps focused on daily and weekly active usage
• A track record designing for engagement and retention — habit formation, behavior change, wellness, or similar
• AI as a core part of your design practice, plus experience designing AI-powered product experiences
• Systems thinking to create experiences that feel clean and simple for users
• Strong visual and interaction craft, hands-on prototyping, and fluency with building products people love to use
• Experience leading user research or usability testing

Nice to Have

While not required, we would be especially excited if you bring:

• Experience with behavior change frameworks or gamification
• Experience helping teammates develop as designers
• Empathy and sensitivity to the challenges of healthcare journeys

Why This Role Matters

Fertility, pregnancy, and menopause care unfold over years, not appointments. Much of what shapes a member's outcome happens between clinical visits. Nobody returns to an app out of obligation — they return because it's useful, respects their time, and doesn't make them feel judged. Design is the difference.

Engagement here isn't a vanity metric; it's how the product does anything at all for a member's health. You will shape that experience, with the opportunity to put your work in front of millions of people.
