FBO Financial Analyst I

Summary The FBO Financial Analyst I participates in a variety of financial analysis projects or functions including budget preparation, variance analysis, business operational metric reporting, net present values, cash flow analysis, forecasting, and operating expense and financial results reporting and analysis. The role involves gathering and reviewing data, updating financial and business operations models and applications, and analyzing and reporting results. Under direct supervision, the analyst assists or conducts a variety of basic financial analysis projects or functions, preparing routine reports of findings and recommendations to more senior financial analysts or appropriate managers, and assists in financial and operational decision support and business planning projects with regular supervision. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the role. Basic knowledge of finance or economic analysis and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Good research and effective communication skills. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications. Major Accountabilities Performs basic corporate financial tasks such as budgeting, accruals, variance analysis, and short- and long-term forecasting for the business, working under direct supervision. Supports the monthly finance and accounting close process by performing accruals and variance analysis, and preparing variance explanations and communicating findings to management. Assists in administering department programs and plans by maintaining basic knowledge of each and preparing ongoing analyses of specific topics. Ensures compliance by maintaining appropriate documentation, files, records, systems, and/or desk procedures. Assists in the development of limited-scope financial and operational decision support and business unit planning projects. Builds knowledge of the primary emerging issues facing the industry and company business specifics. Develops a basic understanding of company, unit policies and procedures, accounting practices, and federal and state regulations.
