Guided by the philosophy "We Focus on You," we provide accounting, payroll, operational support, credentialing, technology, and practice management services to healthcare organizations and professional service firms throughout the region.Our team helps clients focus on serving their patients and customers while we manage the financial and administrative functions that support their success.Position OverviewFocus Practice Management is seeking an experienced Accounting & Financial Operations Manager to oversee accounting operations for multiple affiliated entities while ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient business processes.This hands-on leadership role combines accounting management, financial reporting, payroll oversight, and operational support. Working closely with the CFO and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, improving workflows, supporting strategic initiatives, and helping the organization scale for future growth.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and enjoys taking ownership of accounting processes, solving problems, and improving systems.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial OperationsOversee day-to-day accounting operations for multiple affiliated entitiesMaintain financial records utilizing QuickBooks Online and related systemsPerform and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliationsManage accounts payable, vendor payments, expense tracking, and account codingMonitor accounts receivable activity and assist with collectionsReview and reconcile credit card activityMaintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentationPrepare monthly financial statements and management reportsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisTrack intercompany transactions and allocationsCoordinate annual audits and support external accountants and advisorsSupport trust accounting, billing, and professional services accounting functions as neededIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controlsFinancial Leadership & Strategic SupportPartner with the CFO and leadership team on financial reporting and operational initiativesAssist with developing and maintaining accounting policies and proceduresProvide financial analysis to support business decisionsParticipate in planning, technology enhancements, and process improvement projectsHelp develop scalable accounting processes to support growthAssist with training and cross-training efforts to ensure continuity of key functionsPayroll OversightReview payroll reports, journal entries, tax filings, and reconciliations for accuracyServe as backup payroll processor using Gusto and related systems when neededAssist with retirement plan contributions, HSA administration, payroll audits, and compliance requirementsCoordinate with payroll providers, benefit vendors, accountants, and tax professionalsSupport annual reporting requirements and insurance auditsAdministrative Support & ContinuityProvide backup support for onboarding, payroll administration, and benefits-related processesCollaborate with team members to maintain accurate employee and payroll recordsAssist with open enrollment and compliance documentationProvide administrative coverage during absences and peak workload periodsSupport special projects requiring collaboration across accounting, payroll, and operationsRequired QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience5+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations experienceStrong proficiency with QuickBooks OnlineExperience managing multiple entities or complex accounting environmentsWorking knowledge of payroll processes and payroll accountingStrong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, internal controls, and financial reportingAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft ExcelExcellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to maintain confidentiality regarding financial and personnel informationPreferred QualificationsExperience in a law firm, healthcare organization, professional services firm, or practice management environmentExperience with Gusto payroll or comparable payroll systemsFamiliarity with law firm accounting, trust accounting, or professional services billingExperience coordinating audits and tax reporting processesKnowledge of New York payroll and employment compliance requirementsExperience implementing accounting technology and workflow improvementsCPA, CMA, or other accounting certification is a plusCompensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $65,000-$75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualificationsBenefits Include:Health insuranceDental insuranceRetirement plan participationPaid time offPaid holidaysProfessional development opportunitiesReady to Make an Impact?We're looking for an experienced accounting professional who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys improving processes, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
