Overview Reporting to the Director of Global Lateral Partner Recruiting, the Lateral Partner Recruiting Manager (“Manager”) is responsible for managing the development, implementation and administration of firm-wide policies, programs and procedures related to the recruitment, evaluation, hiring and onboarding of senior lawyers. The Manager collaborates with the Director, the Policy Committee, practice group leaders, specialty group leaders, office managing partners and other firm leaders in all lateral partner and counsel recruitment efforts. Responsibilities Work with the Director and firm leadership on strategy development and implementation of hiring priorities, managing partner and counsel lateral hiring across all offices. Guide firm leaders on recruiting best practices and strategies, focusing on peer firms and direct competitors, and provide data-driven counsel to ensure successful hiring of top talent. Collaborate with the recruiting team to maintain relationships with key legal search firms and ensure consistent messaging regarding the firm and its recruiting needs. Develop and implement proactive search strategies to meet recruiting needs across all offices, creating and updating lateral partner pipeline reports. Conduct market research, create candidate target lists and work with practice group leaders to source and recruit candidates. Develop marketing and media profile-raising campaigns in partnership with the Marketing Communications department to attract prospects. Ensure execution of all elements of the recruiting process, including due diligence, conflict disclosure, and business justification materials, and act as a liaison to candidates throughout recruitment and onboarding. Manage screening and full round interview process for lateral partner and counsel candidates, preparing interview materials and facilitating policy committee review. Work with business support groups to support recruiting and onboarding procedures. Develop and implement onboarding and integration strategy with Practice Development and Attorney Talent, ensuring integration plans and periodic check‑ins. Collect and analyze recruiting data and results in conjunction with the broader Lateral Hiring team. Manage special projects and perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred. Minimum eight years of progressive experience in recruiting, operations or HR, preferably in a law firm or professional services firm, or experience practicing law with strong involvement in recruiting. Previous experience managing an operational function required. Demonstrated experience leading projects and working across teams. Experience and interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance processes and data analysis. Ability to build credibility and trusted relationships through clear communication and strategic influence at senior levels. Understanding of general legal recruiting processes and knowledge of mid‑to‑large law firms, especially peer firms with global presences. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database programs (e.g., LawCruit). Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. Maintain composure under stressful conditions with professionalism. Working Conditions Incumbent is expected to work the hours necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Some travel may be required. The role requires hybrid on‑site presence as an essential function, with consistent and predictable on‑site engagement for business continuity, professional development and collaboration. Salary ranges are estimates for the position and will be determined based on market data and internal equity.
