Position Details University of Colorado | Denver Faculty Level/Title: Lecturer Working Title: Lecturer of Acting FTE: .225 per 3 credit course Salary Range: $5,371.19 per 3 credit course Position #00605107 – Requisition #38968 Job Description We invite a part‑time Lecturer specializing in Acting to join our collaborative faculty team. This role focuses on inspiring and training the next cohort of filmmakers with practical, hands‑on experience. What you will do Teaching 100% of the workload. Teaching Load: 1 or 2 classes per semester (3–6 credit hours) Instruction focus: acting and performance for film and television related courses (acting, directing, movement, and/or voice) Guide students through real‑world projects, help them develop essential technical and artistic skills Mentor aspiring professionals and contribute to shaping a program known for collegiality, creative innovation, and commitment to student growth Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications) Degree/Experience: MFA or BA in Acting Expertise: 3 years of experience in acting or directing for the screen at the professional level Teaching: 2 years of experience teaching acting for the screen (high school level, college level, or community based productions) Preferred Qualifications Degree/Experience: MFA Expertise: More than 3 years of experience acting or directing for the screen at the professional level. Demonstrated mastery of professional vocal or physical pedagogies. Teaching: Experience teaching acting for the screen at the college level Certifications: Voice (Linklater, Fitzmaurice, etc.) and/or Movement (Alexander, Laban, Chekhov, Lecoq, Sensory Training, etc.) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and experience in acting for film and television Skills: Ability to bridge traditional conservatory training with film‑specific applications Ability to mentor and inspire students in a dynamic learning environment Ability to contribute to a collaborative faculty culture Capacity to help shape the future of a growing program Abilities: Striving (The 'Why'): A passion for teaching and a desire to mentor and inspire students Thinking (The 'How'): The ability to weigh alternatives and apply creative and technical expertise to a teaching role Relating (The 'Who'): The capacity to work effectively with colleagues and students in a collaborative environment Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $5,371.19 per 3 credit course. Position is not eligible for overtime compensation. Position is not eligible for benefits.
