Travel RN - TelemetryAmerican TravelerTyler, Texas, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 2$1,647.39/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift cardiac unit requiring prior travel experience and TX or compact RN licensure.DetailsWork on a 36 private-room Telemetry unit serving young adult through geriatric patientsPriority admission given to patients requiring medical cardiac care and recovering from cardiac interventions such as cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implantAlso admits hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patientsNight shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)Patient ratio of 1:5-6Uses Epic charting systemRequirementsActive TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of considerationMinimum 1.5-2 years of RN experience requiredPrior travel nursing experience requiredCertifications required: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS also requiredExperience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVsExperience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teamsExperience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, pre/post cardiac surgery, post cardiac angiogram, and post MI careExperience with heparin protocols and management of vasoactive drips (no titration)Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vacExperience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management preferredExperience with sheath removal, arterial line management, port accessing/management, and BiPAP/CPAP management preferredAdditional InformationProvide telemetry-level nursing care to a cardiac patient population, including monitoring for dysrhythmias and responding to emergenciesComplete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signingComplete required onsite orientation modules (approximately 4-6 hours for RNs)Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be consideredCandidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be consideredFormer staff members must wait one year before returning as a travelerAll requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientationTravel pairs or groups are not accepted for this positionFirst-time travelers may be considered if minimum experience requirements are met
