Histology Technologist | Sterling Heights, Michigan

Seeking a skilled professional to support laboratory operations in histology. This is a 13-week contract opportunity suited for individuals with significant experience and relevant certifications, looking to contribute their expertise to a busy healthcare environment.


Schedule:

• Afternoon shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM

Qualifications:

• 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience working in a histology laboratory setting
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field
• Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Sharp attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and complex histological procedures including specimen preparation, cutting, staining, and mounting of tissue samples
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment ensuring accurate and reliable results
• Maintain documentation and quality assurance protocols in line with standards and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with pathologists, technologists, and other laboratory team members to ensure timely processing of specimens
• Uphold safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organized lab environment
• Support ongoing process improvements and follow established laboratory protocols
