This is a full-time position. Please note the unique hours: Because The TNR Blue Book goes out early to subscribers and some fresh content is produced in the early morning, the hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.–3 p.m. The minimum salary for this role is $66,000. The position is covered by the collective-bargaining agreement between The New Republic and The NewsGuild of New York, CWA Local 31003, AFL-CIO. Job Requirements The ideal candidate is a fast, careful editor with a sharp eye for detail who can seamlessly pivot between newsletter production, marketing emails, and news. The candidate should be organized and know how to prioritize assignments and manage their schedule. Additional Requirements At least seven years of copyediting experience, preferably at a news website or magazine. Experience with basic fact-checking. Familiarity with AP style and the ability to help maintain TNR’s style guide while designing effective systems to update staff of both house and AP style changes.
