A closed-door mail order pharmacy based in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a multi-licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to join their strong team on a part-time basis. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers the chance to oversee pharmacy operations within a supportive environment alongside six experienced technicians and fellow pharmacists.

Position Details:

• Type: Contract to Hire
• Duration: 13+ weeks ongoing
• Hours: Part-Time, 16-24 hours per week
• Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Location: Gaithersburg, MD

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Pharmacist License in Maryland plus additional licenses in AL, AR, CA, LA, NE, OK, OR, TX
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy management experience
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in long-term care and mail order pharmacy environments
• Sterile compounding experience is a plus but not mandatory

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily pharmacy operations as the PIC, ensuring strict adherence to federal and state regulations
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, to maintain efficient workflow and accuracy in medication dispensing
• Review and approve prescriptions to safeguard appropriate therapy for long-term care patients
• Maintain compliance with quality assurance, controlled substance regulations, policies, and documentation standards
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and nursing staff to support optimal medication management and timely delivery
• Provide assistance with clean room and sterile compounding operations when applicable
