Vice President of Membership and Engagement

The Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers (ADDP) is looking for a strategic, relationship-focused leader to become our Vice President of Membership & Engagement. In this role, you will shape the member experience, lead signature events and communications, and support community-based organizations supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and brain injuries. ADDP brings together a statewide network of approximately 130 provider members and 40 business members across Massachusetts. We work in partnership with government, policymakers, and other stakeholders to strengthen community-based human services through advocacy, education, public policy, and innovation. The Opportunity Reporting to the President & CEO, you will lead ADDP’s membership strategy, engagement efforts, major events and educational programs, communications, and related revenue initiatives. You will supervise one direct report, the Senior Administrative & Events Coordinator, and work closely with this position to translate event and engagement strategy into successful execution. You will join a small, collaborative team and have the opportunity to deepen member value, build lasting relationships, and create experiences that connect, inform, and engage the ADDP community. What You’ll Do Membership & Engagement Lead the full provider and business membership lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through renewal, retention, and ongoing engagement. Build trusted relationships with members, understand their needs, and connect them with committees, advocacy opportunities, programs, events, and resources. Use participation data and member feedback to strengthen benefits, improve retention, and identify opportunities for growth. Cultivate prospective members and create valuable connections between business and provider members, including educational Lunch & Learn programs. Events & Programs Set the strategy, themes, content, programming, and member experience for ADDP’s Annual LEAD Conference and Annual Membership Meeting. Develop agendas, recruit speakers and keynote presenters, and align programming with member interests and strategic priorities. Build sponsorship, exhibitor, registration, and marketing strategies that deliver value and support revenue goals. Partner with the Senior Administrative & Events Coordinator on event logistics, communications, and execution. Evaluate attendance, revenue, participation, and feedback to improve future programs and identify new opportunities. Support policy-focused programming, including the Legislative Budget Forum. Communications & Marketing Lead ADDP’s weekly member newsletter, Annual Report, member communications, publications, marketing materials, digital content, and website content. Advance ADDP’s brand and ensure communications are timely, consistent, professional, and aligned with the Association’s mission. Strengthen ADDP’s visibility and clearly communicate its value and impact to members, prospective members, partners, and other audiences. Financial & Organizational Leadership Partner with the President & CEO on the annual operating budget and monthly financial review. Develop and monitor membership, sponsorship, exhibitor, and event revenue projections. Oversee membership and event invoicing, collections, and tracking. Support year-end close, audit preparation, financial reporting, Finance Committee, and Board activities as assigned. Collaborate across the organization on priorities and special projects. What You’ll Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in association management, membership, nonprofit management, communications, events, marketing, or a related area. A track record of building strong member, client, or stakeholder relationships. Experience leading conferences, educational programs, or complex events, including program development and revenue strategy. Financial acumen and comfort working with budgets, forecasts, invoices, and financial reports. Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and project-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a small team. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a related field. Experience with a membership or trade association, statewide nonprofit, or organizational and corporate membership program. Experience shaping event strategy, content, speakers, and attendee experiences. Familiarity with Massachusetts human services or the disability services sector. Requires being able to sit at a desk and use a computer for most of the day. There will be periods of time (events) when lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
