Court Operations Leadworker II - Probate

The Seventh Judicial District is seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time District Centralized Probate Team Leadworker II position. This position is being posted as an internal promotional opportunity available to current Seventh Judicial District Court Administration staff. The person hired for this position will be working from their current work location. This position allows for a hybrid work environment and will require regular on-site work assignments. Typical hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, with some flexibility based on business needs. The anticipated interview date for this position is June 22, 2026 and anticipated start date for this position will be July 29, 2026. The Leadworker II position will independently provide work direction, training, report monitoring, answering processing questions, and responding to public and stakeholder inquiries for the full Centralized Probate Team. This position will perform the full range of lead and advanced court operations work in the centralized probate team under limited supervision of an assigned supervisor. Work also includes performing a full range of court operations work including case processing and advanced problem-solving responsibilities. Example of Duties Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: • Resolve case related issues and office questions. Work independently with training within the district and across multiple counties. • Order reports and compile data/trends from the centralized unit to make proactive recommendations for improvement. Lead the centralized team through changes independently. Analyze and make recommendations on workflow to establish districtwide consistency in case processing.

• Coordinate and facilitate meetings for the centralized probate team.
• Perform clean-up work for new processes or technology rollouts as necessary.
• Perform advanced court operations and problem-solving work. Handle difficult

case processing work, customer service issues, and unique circumstances with limited supervision. Be a resource for peers, judges, court administrators, supervisors, outside agencies, and court staff to lead and solve problems. • Routinely handle complex and difficult matters in the probate case types independently. A statewide Subject Matter Expert (SME) that has great knowledge of the probate case types, court rules, policies, CAPs and statutes. • Provide direction or input as requested to the district coordinators, trainers, or the Branch's service ticket desk personnel when unique and complex questions arise. Give input and/or feedback on process change recommendations to the branch's related probate committees or processing advisory teams. • Serve as a committee member on probate or process advisory teams and/or be a resource for information on procedural questions for MMG, MMC, civil Process Advisory Workgroups (PAW), etc. • Make decisions and solve problems with little to no guidance as this person functions as the expert in this case type. • Provide guidance and recommendations to judges upon request as case processing questions arise. • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with judges, stakeholders, court administrators/supervisors and court staff across the state. • Keep abreast of new court operations, procedures, policies and processes proactively and independently. Ensure that court staff are notified of the impacted changes. Establish and provide quality control for the processes. Provide process change recommendations at the local and state level. • Consult supervisor after identifying the root problem of unique circumstances and share results of findings with staff and supervisor. • Conduct case processing duties, such as general docketing and case entry; judgement processing and recording; appeals and change of venue; creating and distributing notices; and assisting customers with procedural questions, copy requests, etc. • Assist in providing local office coverage as needed, such as assisting customers at the public counters, telephones, or courtrooms, responding to email inquiries, performing copy requests, etc. Typical Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Below are the past experiences that will lead to success in the role. For education requirements listed, the equivalent number of years of related experience may serve as a substitute. An example of an acceptable qualification for this position is: Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least three (3) years of experience as a Court Operations Associate processing probate cases. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Considerable knowledge of appropriate procedures for processing a variety of legal documents and for proper record imaging, maintenance, and retention. • Considerable knowledge of court procedures and policies, laws, legal terminology and legal factors pertaining to the court. • Knowledge of the organization, operation, function, and jurisdiction of the court.

• Knowledge of electronic case management system and related applications.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
• Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of customer service practices.
• Considerable skill in problem solving including consulting various resources,

analyzing varying situations and circumstances, and determining the best solution with limited, conflicting, or no guidance. • Skill in the operation of a personal computer, including electronic case management system and related applications and equipment. • Ability to coordinate and provide training and guidance for the daily work of other employees engaged in a variety of court operations activities. • Ability to read and interpret legal documents of varying types and complexity and apply knowledge of specific laws, statutes, and rules related to the area of assignment.

• Ability to maintain an accurate record filing system.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and files appropriately

and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability interpret, and apply rules, statutes, laws, policies, and procedures

in area of assignment. • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment while maintain composure and professionalism • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others within and outside of the Judicial Branch.
