General Liability Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks an attorney to defend general liability and civil cases in Overland Park, KS. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team, working in a hybrid setting to manage a diverse caseload and represent clients in various legal proceedings. Duties Gather and review medical evidence and records. Conduct depositions of claimants, physicians, and experts. Perform discovery and legal research. Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs. Litigate cases before judges or referees. Represent employers or insurers in hearings and mediations. Communicate with claims representatives. Monitor and report on loss trends. Assist in accident investigations. Manage workers' compensation costs. Compile and submit management reports. Coordinate and attend claims reviews. Negotiate settlements. Requirements J.D. and admission to the Kansas or Missouri bar. Proven experience in general liability and civil claims defense. Knowledge of legal principles and practices. Understanding of local, state, and federal laws. Proficiency in legal research and terminology. Commitment to confidentiality. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) Certifications Admission to the Kansas or Missouri bar Skills Strong analytical and research skills Excellent communication abilities Effective negotiation skills Attention to detail Benefits 401(k) Health insurance Paid time off Dental insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr
