Position: Machine Operator
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina 28216
Duration: 6-month temp-to-hire
Pay: $22/hr on W2
Shift:  6:00am – 4:00pm Monday - Thursday

Shift: Day Shift – Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Foam Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate automated foam equipment used in the door manufacturing process while ensuring production efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation

• Operate the automated foam system on the manufacturing line.
• Monitor machine performance to ensure efficient production and consistent quality.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Calibrate chemicals used during the foaming process.

Production & Quality

• Complete daily production and scrap reports accurately.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and record machine settings, temperature readings, and foam density checks.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Compare measurements against specifications and identify quality issues.

Material Handling

• Operate forklifts, power pallet jacks, and manual pallet jacks to move materials safely.
• Coordinate workflow with team members following the foaming process to maintain production efficiency.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company safety procedures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.
• Comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and ISO requirements.
• Report safety concerns or equipment issues promptly.

Team Collaboration

• Communicate production status, quality concerns, and equipment issues with supervisors and team leaders.
• Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.
• Work overtime as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred but not required.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading and writing are preferred but not required).
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production schedules, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.
