Summary: This entry-level position involves training on various tasks including the decontamination and assembly of surgical instruments. Progression to Technician II depends on tenure and demonstrated proficiency as evaluated by supervisory staff.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ideally, candidates have around six months of experience in sterile processing or a related field, though this is not mandatory. Experience in instrument handling or operating room settings is preferred. Training will be provided for the right individual. Proficiency in English for reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension is essential. The role requires following both written and verbal instructions accurately and communicating effectively when needed.

Manual dexterity and motor coordination are critical for processing and sterilizing instruments and equipment. The ability to prepare surgical cases and handle delicate instruments with visual acuity is necessary. Physical demands include lifting instrument trays or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, pushing carts loaded up to 100 pounds, and standing for extended periods.

Education and Experience: Prior experience in sterile processing or operating room environments is advantageous but not required. Training will be provided to develop necessary skills.

Requirements: Must be able to see and hear adequately to perform tasks safely and effectively. Must be able to follow detailed instructions and maintain communication with team members.
