The company, founded in 1963, is a major distributor of industrial process control instrumentation products and related services to customers in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.

Job Title

Field Service Technician (Full-time, open to candidates in and surrounding the Dayton, Ohio area)

Responsibilities for the Field Service Technician

• Successfully provide start-up, new units, troubleshooting, calibration, repair, and maintenance of industrial process control instrumentation products, analytical devices, gas detection, and valves.
• Actively diagnose root causes of equipment problems and develop permanent solutions for customers.
• Use technical competency with industrial process controls systems and familiarity with applications in Food & Beverage, Chemical, Water/Wastewater, or GMP environments.
• Read and interpret technical documentation and prepare technical summaries in both written and oral communication.
• Understand applications and products in all facets of level, pressure, flow, temperature, and analytics.
• Transmit technical information and instruction to customers and teammates, including leading classroom settings when preferred.
• Self-start and negotiate sales of product lines and additional services in the field.
• Handle hands, hand tools, calibration, and general testing equipment efficiently.
• Submit mandatory reporting on field service reports, calibration certifications, timesheets, business expenses, etc. promptly.
• Basic computer skills are required; willingness to learn new technical platforms is vital.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
• Work independently without direct supervision and collaborate within a team.
• Carry up to 50lbs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Requirements for the Field Service Technician

• Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays (approximately 50%) and a clean driving record.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate. The job may require sitting at a computer workstation for long periods, talking, hearing, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, digging, and climbing. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
