Job Description
Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our surgical services team. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity with a 3x12-hour night shift schedule, requiring flexibility to meet facility needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the proper sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping of surgical instruments.
• Support multiple areas within the facility, including potential floating between different campuses as required.
• Participate in a holiday rotation as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
• Experience in a Level I Trauma center is required.
• Hands-on experience in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping processes.
• Preferred experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and GYN cases.
• National certifications such as CBSPD and/or HSPA are mandatory.
• BLS certification is not required.

Additional Information

• Must provide all requests for time off (RTO) at the time of submission; no RTO will be approved after the contract is signed.
• Approval of RTO is based on departmental needs.
• Guaranteed hours are capped; the facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks, with specific attendance policies in place.
• Travelers should be aware of emergency response team assignments during hurricane season, which runs from June through November.
• Local candidates may be accepted based on a case-by-case basis.
