Propósito/Objetivo de la Posición:
Cocinar carnes, pescados, verduras, sopas y otros productos alimenticios calientes, así como preparar y dividir los productos alimenticios antes de cocinarlos. También realiza otras tareas en las áreas de preparación de alimentos y platos finales, incluido el emplatado y la decoración de productos cocinados y la preparación de decoraciones apropiadas para todos los platos del menú.
Responsabilidades:
o Promueve, trabaja y actúa de manera consistente con la misión de To Go Stores LLC.
o Inspecciona, limpia y mantiene las áreas de preparación de alimentos, como equipos y superficies de trabajo, o áreas de servicio para garantizar prácticas seguras y sanitarias de manipulación de alimentos.
o Se asegura de que los alimentos se almacenen y cocinen a la temperatura correcta mediante la regulación de la temperatura de hornos, parrillas, freidoras, asadores y otros equipos de cocina.
o Se asegura de la frescura de los alimentos y los ingredientes comprobando la calidad, haciendo un seguimiento de los procesos de inventario (FIFO).
o Conoce y cumple consistentemente con los tamaños de porción estándar del restaurante, los métodos de cocción, los estándares de calidad, las reglas, políticas y procedimientos de la cocina.
o Responsable de la calidad de los productos servidos.
o Almacena y mantiene niveles suficientes de productos alimenticios en las estaciones de la línea para operar un período de servicio sin problemas.
o Maneja, almacena y rota todos los productos alimenticios y suministros de acuerdo con las políticas y procedimientos de To Go Stores, LLC.
o Gire o revuelva los alimentos para garantizar una cocción uniforme.
o Sazona y cocina los alimentos de acuerdo con las recetas, el juicio personal y la experiencia.
o Hornear, rostizar, asa y cocina al vapor carnes, pescado, verduras y otros alimentos.
o Pese, mida y mezcle los ingredientes de acuerdo con las recetas, utilizando varios utensilios y equipos de cocina.
o Porciona, organiza y decora los platos, de acuerdo con el tamaño estándar de las porciones y las especificaciones de la receta, y sirva los alimentos.
o Observa y prueba los alimentos para determinar si se han cocidos lo suficiente, utilizando métodos como probarlos, olerlos o perforarlos con utensilios.
o Realiza y cumple con los registros de manejo de alimentos diarios y temperaturas.
o Sigue la presentación adecuada en todos los platos.
o Lave, pele y corte frutas y verduras para prepararlas para el consumo.
o Cortar y recortar carnes como: carne de res, ternera, jamón, cerdo y cordero para el servicio caliente o frío.
o Ayuda en las tareas de preparación de alimentos durante los períodos de menor actividad según sea necesario.
o Sustituya o ayude a otros cocineros durante emergencias o períodos de prisa.
o Asiste a todas las reuniones programadas de empleados y ofrece sugerencias para mejorar.
o Coordina y ayuda a otros empleados a satisfacer las necesidades de los clientes y apoyar la operación del restaurante.
o Cubre a los compañeros de trabajo cuando sea necesario para garantizar los estándares de servicio al cliente y una operación eficiente.
o Velar por el control de los desperdicios tanto de productos crudos cómo cocidos.
o Apoya en la preparación del área de Food Services para el proceso de auditoría.
o Se encarga de las tareas designadas para la posición de Cook en los días libres de esta.
Otras:
o Asiste en la planificación de los menús.
o Asiste en mantener registros e inventarios.
o Hornea panes, panecillos y postres.

Requisitos Esenciales:
1. Estudios en curso en artes culinarias ó mínimo de 1 años de experiencia confeccionando alimentos en la industria de restaurantes.
2. Conocimientos básicos de matemáticas.
3. Destrezas efectivas de comunicación y trabajo en equipo
4. Habilidad para entender y seguir instrucciones.
5. Trabajo bajo poca supervisión.
