Job Description

Structural Steel Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection and be comfortable reviewing plans, specifications, and project requirements.

Responsibilities

Prepare estimates and bids for structural steel projects.
Review drawings, specifications, and project documents.
Perform material and quantity takeoffs.
Obtain and evaluate material, fabrication, and subcontractor pricing.
Develop accurate labor, material, equipment, and erection costs.
Prepare and submit competitive bids.
Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, customers, and internal teams.
Track bid opportunities and follow up as needed.
Assist with change orders and project pricing when necessary.

Qualifications

3+ years of structural steel or steel fabrication estimating experience.
Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection.
Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications.
Experience with material and quantity takeoffs.
Strong math, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
