Communicable Disease Epidemiologist

Aurora Location: The Epidemiologist (Communicable Disease) promotes individual and population health by leading epidemiological activities and initiatives for the Department with particular focus on communicable diseases. Responsibilities include: performing professional epidemiology by collecting, organizing, analyzing, interpreting and disseminating epidemiological data relevant to communicable disease control in Kane County; designing and/or implementing public health surveillance systems and all related activities; and working closely with staff across the Department to protect Kane residents from communicable diseases. Requirements: Master's degree in science or in public health with a focus in epidemiology. Doctor Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or Biostatistics preferred. Three (3) years of public health experience preferred. Valid Illinois driver's license; current certificate of vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation to all assigned work locations. Knowledge of epidemiology, biostatistics and public health surveillance methods, tools and techniques with particular knowledge of communicable disease control.
