Senior Accountant

The Role

The Senior Accountant will support monthly and quarterly financial close activities across multiple entities, including international operations. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules while maintaining the general ledger in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Additional responsibilities include inventory and cost accounting, fixed assets, and stock-based compensation, along with reviewing work and providing guidance to junior accounting team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries for cash, payroll, leases, accruals, and other recurring and non-recurring transactions.
• Complete account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and prepare monthly amortization entries.
• Support international accounting activities, including foreign subsidiary close, foreign currency translation, intercompany reconciliations, settlements, and consolidations.
• Assist with inventory and cost accounting, including cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory reserve analysis.
• Participate in semiannual physical inventory counts, including periodic travel as needed.
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including additions, depreciation, disposals, and construction-in-progress (CIP) transfers.
• Prepare stock-based compensation journal entries in accordance with ASC 718 and complete related equity reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting, quarterly fluctuation analysis, and preparation of executive and audit committee materials.
• Support internal controls, internal audits, and external audit requests by preparing supporting documentation and workpapers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, FP&A, HR, Legal, Accounts Payable, Tax, and Payroll.
• Review staff accountants’ work, provide guidance, and help ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
