Product Engineer at Sequence Holdings, New York NY

Sequence Holdings acquires established service-economy businesses and refounds them as market leaders using proprietary AI. At the center of this strategy is Atlas, a platform that maps entire companies end to end — every process, handoff, and system of record. The firm is now seeking a Product Engineer in New York, NY, to scale this refounding motion across every portfolio company.

Product Engineer at Sequence Holdings — New York, NY

Product Engineers make Sequence's transformation model repeatable. In this full-time role, you will own Atlas and its expanding capabilities, building the agent infrastructure, workflow orchestration, data systems, developer tools, and product primitives that redefine how an acquired business operates. Collaboration with Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) is central to the position: you will absorb their field knowledge, encode it into platform features, and ensure every deployment strengthens Atlas for the next acquisition.

What You Will Do

• Own and evolve the Atlas platform, which maps processes, handoffs, and systems of record across portfolio companies.
• Build agent infrastructure and workflow orchestration that make AI-driven transformation scalable.
• Partner with FDEs to capture transformation insights and translate them into reusable platform capabilities.
• Ensure each refounding is faster and more ambitious than the last by compounding learnings into the technology stack.

What Sequence Looks For

• Exceptional builder: a proven ability to turn ambitious ideas into simple, reliable products users love.
• Relentlessly product-oriented: someone who obsesses over details to nail the user experience.
• Track record of impressive accomplishments across academic, professional, or entrepreneurial pursuits.
• Raw horsepower and tenacity — a willingness to push through obstacles to deliver results.
• Zero-to-one experience: demonstrated capability in building products from scratch.
• Willingness to travel to operating companies on-site.

Compensation

The verified salary range for this position is USD 200,000 – 300,000 per year , reflecting the seniority and impact expected of the role.

Application Tips for Engineering Candidates

• Showcase zero-to-one work: Sequence values builders who have taken ideas from nothing to a working product. Highlight side projects, startup experience, or internal tools you shipped from scratch.
• Demonstrate AI and infrastructure fluency: since you will work on agent infrastructure and workflow orchestration, mention any experience with LLM APIs, orchestration frameworks, or data pipeline tools.
• Emphasize product sensibility: this is not a pure backend role. Include examples where you shaped UX decisions or iterated based on user feedback.
• Highlight cross-functional collaboration: working alongside FDEs and management teams means communication matters. Mention instances where you translated technical complexity for non-technical stakeholders.

Backed by 8VC, Conviction, and Lux Capital, Sequence Holdings offers a rare opportunity to build infrastructure that compounds in value with every deployment. If you are a tenacious builder who thrives at the intersection of AI and real-world operations, this role warrants your attention.
