As an unarmed Security Officer at a government courthouse location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide professional customer service to visitors and staff. You will communicate clearly, respond to evolving needs, and contribute to a respectful environment. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $16.90 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeFri12:00 AM - 08:30 AMSat12:00 AM - 08:30 AM What You'll Do: Provide courteous customer service to visitors, court personnel, and members of the public while following site-specific procedures and applicable emergency response activities. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned court facility areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner and notify appropriate site contacts or public authorities as directed. Monitor access points and assist with visitor flow in accordance with established court facility protocols. Prepare accurate activity, incident, and observation reports and communicate security-related concerns to Allied Universal leadership and designated site representatives. Minimum Requirements: Have at least 2 years of security-related experience. A guard card or license is preferred. A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
