We are looking for an experienced Controller to support a growing SaaS company in Raleigh, North Carolina through a Long-term Contract engagement . This consultant will partner closely with executive leadership to enhance financial processes, improve reporting capabilities, and establish scalable accounting practices to support continued growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SaaS accounting, experience transitioning organizations from a cash basis to an accrual basis accounting model, and the ability to deliver actionable financial insights through metrics, dashboards, and budgeting processes.

This contract role is flexible with the number of hours and being hybrid onsite in Raleigh, NC .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the transition from cash basis accounting to accrual basis accounting , ensuring compliance with accounting standards and implementation of best practices.
• Manage and strengthen relationships with banking partners and oversee the company's line of credit and treasury activities .
• Review monthly financial statements and accounting close processes, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting.
• Develop and implement key financial metrics, KPIs, and executive dashboards to support business decision-making.
• Create and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses in partnership with leadership.
• Evaluate and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support scalability.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to leadership regarding cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes as needed.
• Mentor internal accounting staff and provide leadership on accounting and finance initiatives.
• Assist with ad hoc financial projects and operational improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including Controller-level responsibilities.
• Demonstrated experience within a SaaS or recurring revenue business environment .
• Proven success leading a cash-to-accrual accounting conversion .
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience managing banking relationships, lines of credit, and cash management activities.
• Ability to create financial models, KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting packages.
• Experience developing budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership.
