This position is hybrid-flexible but will be expected to be in office 3x per week with up to 50% travel. Intertek's project-related assurance, testing, inspection and consulting services are the risk management and quality assurance partner you need to ensure the reliability, safety and performance of your new developments, existing assets and facilities.Intertek's Building Science Solutions (BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.What are we looking for?The ideal Building Enclosure Project Manager will have a solid background and interest in building enclosure consulting for new and existing buildings. They should also have an interest in leading projects of various sizes, building the local business, and contributing technically to our overall team. They have responsibilities including management of project(s), supporting senior staff members, building client relationships and pursuing project work. This position will travel up to 50% outside the local area.Shift/Schedule: Monday – Friday 8AM-5PMWhat you'll do:Assist with new design consulting and peer reviews of plans and specifications for building enclosuresPerform initial review of architectural drawings, shop drawings and submittals pertaining to the building enclosureAssist with/perform field performance testing and water leakage testing of roofing and waterproofing systems, windows, curtain walls, and other building elementsAssist with construction administration services, including mock-up testing and shop drawing reviews, and conduct factory inspections and site visitsAssist with/perform forensic investigations and documentation of existing conditions including wall claddings, windows, curtain wall systems, roofs, skylights, plaza waterproofing and below grade elementsAssist with remediation design of building enclosuresPrepare professionally written technical reportsPrepare sketches and/or mark-up details using Bluebeam or hand-written techniquesThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering or Architectural Engineering3+ years' experience in Building Enclosure consulting industryTechnical understanding and knowledge of building enclosure systems and constructionExperience in managing a range of small to large projectsField experience or strong interest in working onsiteAbility to read and understand architectural drawings and specificationsAbility to perform office tasks and physical labor tasksAbility to perform work from ladders, boom-lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, roofs, etc.Ability to efficiently work on projects independently and in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to meet deadlinesSolid technical writing and communication skillsConsistent and professional interaction and communication with clients and project teamFluent in English for the safe and effective performance of the jobAbility to travel up to 70% outside the local area, depending on local workload and project locationsMust have a valid driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle ReportPreferred Requirements & Qualifications:IIBEC registrations (RRO, RRC, RWC, REWC, REWO, RBEC or CBECxP )Air Barrier inspector with ABAA certificationField experience with diverse building typesInvestigation of existing walls for leaks and other performance issuesFamiliarity with ASTM testing of exterior walls for air and water infiltration and mock-up testingSafety Training/Scaffold CertificationBluebeam proficiencyActive in professional organization(s)Intertek: Total Quality.
