As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Credential Desk in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government juvenile services location, you will help maintain a secure, welcoming environment by managing entry points, verifying credentials, monitoring access activity, and supporting visitors and staff with professional communication. You will conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. This is a driving position. Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth residents, and other authorized individuals by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor records, and control access to restricted areas in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating with appropriate site personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, building entrances, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Prepare accurate activity logs, incident reports, and access-control documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
