MRI Technologist I - Outpatient

Position Objective: Performs routine and complex MR I procedures in accordance with established safety and quality standards and the special needs of patients. Processes MR I scan sequences; verifies demographics and technical information; checks technical quality of images. 2. Participates as a member of a specialized medical team in performing specialized MR I scans of various organs and in pre‑planning patients for specific procedures. Reviews pathology, surgical and other reports to monitor patient progress and provide a means for evaluating the accuracy of MR I examinations. 3. Constantly assesses patient’s condition and administers first aid as required; assesses physicians in cases of adverse reactions or emergencies. 4. Confers with the Supervisor to recommend changes, report problems and provide feedback on improving patient care, technical quality and clinical functions. 5. Monitors equipment performance and reports problems to the Manager; records malfunctions as required. Educational/Experience Requirements: Successful completion of a one-year accredited program in MR I Technology or ARRT MR I certification Current with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements Required License / Certifications: Current State of Maryland Licensure (preferred) ARRT (MRI) or ARMIRT (required) American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS (required) Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands: There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will not be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
