Senior Research Associate

Senior Research Associate position at Abcam supporting assay development using biochemical and immunoassay techniques. The role involves laboratory experiments, validation of biological reagents, and troubleshooting in kit development, reporting to the Head of Biochemical Assays in Eugene, Oregon.
Responsibilities
- Perform and support laboratory experiments for assay development and validation
- Screen and evaluate antibodies, conjugates, enzymes, and buffers for ELISA and biochemical assays
- Process and analyze biological specimens including plasma, serum, and tissue samples
- Troubleshoot technical issues during assay kit development and production
- Maintain laboratory records, document standard operating procedures, and support process improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry or related life science discipline
- Minimum 1 year relevant laboratory experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and curve-fitting software like GraphPad Prism
- Experience running microplate assays with colorimetric, fluorometric, or luminometric readouts
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 pounds
- Willingness to travel up to 10% overnight
