Position Overview Ideal Millwork is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to partner closely with the founder and lead the operational execution of the company as it enters its next phase of growth. This role will oversee the day-to-day operations of the business, including production, project execution, team leadership, and operational infrastructure. The COO will focus on building the systems, processes, and leadership structure required to scale the company while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and customer service. The founder will remain focused on sales, client relationships, and company growth, while the COO ensures the organization operates efficiently and is positioned for long-term scalability. This role will serve as the operational leader of the company, responsible for building the structure, systems, and leadership capability needed to scale the business. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Lead the day-to-day operations of the company and ensure the business executes effectively against strategic priorities Translate company growth objectives into clear operational plans and execution strategies Identify operational inefficiencies and implement systems and processes that improve productivity and scalability Production & Project Oversight Oversee fabrication timelines, installation coordination, and project delivery Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with company quality standards Improve operational efficiency across estimating, scheduling, production planning, and project execution Team Leadership Lead, coach, and develop internal teams including production staff, project managers, and operational personnel Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability across the organization Build a culture of ownership, professionalism, and operational excellence Process & Systems Development Implement systems that improve coordination between sales, production, and project teams Develop operational KPIs and reporting that provide visibility into performance, margins, and project timelines Introduce scalable workflows that support continued company growth Strategic Partnership with the Founder Serve as a trusted operational partner to the founder Help translate company growth goals into operational strategy and execution Support hiring, organizational design, and infrastructure needed to scale the business Qualifications 8–15+ years of operational leadership experience Proven track record of helping scale a growing company or division Experience within millwork, construction, manufacturing, or project-based industries strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to build operational systems and improve workflow efficiency Experience managing production teams, project teams, or trade-based operations Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage both field and office teams Highly organized with strong problem-solving and execution capabilities Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating in a fast-paced growth environment Compensation Target total compensation for this role is approximately $200,000, including base salary and performance-based bonus. What Success Looks Like Within the first 6–12 months, success in this role will include: Establishing clear operational structure, roles, and accountability across the organization Implementing improved production scheduling, project management, and workflow systems to increase efficiency Creating stronger alignment between sales, project management, and shop production Introducing operational KPIs and reporting that provide visibility into project timelines, margins, and team performance Strengthening leadership within the operations and production teams Allowing the founder to focus primarily on sales, client relationships, and growth initiatives while the company operates smoothly day-to-day #J-18808-Ljbffr Zak Human Solutions
