Assistant Property Manager / Experienced Leasing Consultant

Location: Newburgh, NY Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour Schedule: Full-Time Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm Opportunity (TTP)

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager or Leasing Consultant to join a highly desirable 102-unit senior living (55+) community in Newburgh, NY. This is a unique opportunity to work in a smooth-running property with minimal operational issues and an excellent resident base.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, as they will be the sole on-site office team member. Prior property management or leasing experience is required.

This position offers the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily property operations and office administration
• Conduct leasing activities including tours, applications, renewals, and move-ins
• Respond to resident inquiries, concerns, and maintenance requests
• Provide exceptional customer service and resident support
• Process rent payments and assist with delinquency follow-up
• Prepare notices, reports, lease agreements, and other resident documentation
• Maintain accurate resident files and ensure compliance with company policies
• Coordinate with maintenance staff regarding work orders and unit turns
• Track occupancy, move-ins, move-outs, and renewal activity
• Schedule and coordinate vendor services
• Perform property inspections and help maintain community appearance standards
• Enforce community policies and lease compliance requirements
• Support resident retention and marketing initiatives
• Serve as a backup to property management functions when needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Leasing Consultant, Assistant Property Manager, or similar property management role
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
• Experience with leasing, renewals, and resident relations
• Knowledge of property management software such as:
  • Yardi
  • RealPage
  • OneSite
  • AppFolio
  • Similar platforms
• Professional demeanor and strong attention to detail
• Reliable and able to work without direct on-site supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in multifamily housing or senior living communities
• Leadership experience or ability to step into property management responsibilities when needed
• Strong understanding of occupancy management, rent collection, and lease administration
