Details Neuro Med/Surg unit (8 Rose) within a Level I trauma hospital 22-bed unit with adult patient population and 5:1-6:1 patient ratios Common diagnoses include CVA, TIA, seizure, immobility, and urinary or respiratory conditions Uses Mindray vital sign machines, GE EKG, and cardiac monitors EPIC EMR system used 13-week assignment with night shift hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Must be willing and able to work all shift types including days, nights, and mids Weekend commitment of 2 of 4 weekends or 4 of 8 weekend shift days, with straight weekends available if preferred No on-call requirements Floating required only rarely, if needed Requirements Active RN license (PA or compact) required BLS certification required NIHSS and Swallow Screen certifications preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Neuro nursing experience ideal Must demonstrate competency in dysrhythmia recognition, including a dysrhythmia and math dosage test on the first day of orientation All PA clearances required, including Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI and Department of Aging fingerprinting, and PATCH State Police Clearance Drug screening must be completed within 90 days of start No declinations accepted for MMR or TB screening Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration Additional Information Provide direct care to adult neuro med-surg patients presenting with CVA, TIA, seizures, and mobility, urinary, or respiratory issues Facility orientation occurs weekly on Mondays Availability for holiday coverage must be confirmed during phone screening Dress code allows any scrub color, but hoodies, t-shirts, apparel with wording or images, and facial piercings are not permitted Candidates must live 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; local candidates may be considered at the local rate Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment American Traveler Job ID P-741912.
