Summer/Seasonal Sales Coordinator

The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented summer/seasonal sales coordinator to join our sales team. This opportunity is designed for students or individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in hospitality, sales, event planning, marketing, customer service, and business administration.

Working alongside experienced sales professionals, the intern will learn the day-to-day operations of a hotel sales office while providing administrative support and assisting with group bookings, events, client communications, and special projects. This position offers valuable exposure to hotel operations and the opportunity to develop professional skills in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Learning Opportunities & Responsibilities

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to:

• Learn the fundamentals of hotel sales, catering, and event management.
• Assist with administrative projects, data entry, filing, and organization of sales records.
• Observe and participate in client communications and customer service interactions.
• Assist with preparing proposals, contracts, event documents, and sales presentations.
• Learn how hotel group bookings, room blocks, and events are coordinated from inquiry to execution.
• Support the Sales & Marketing team with marketing materials, research projects, and database management.
• Assist with site visits and property tours for prospective clients.
• Gain exposure to event planning, banquet operations, and guest service standards.
• Learn hotel software systems and sales management tools used within the hospitality industry.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with departments including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Catering, Housekeeping, and Maintenance.
• Assist with special projects and other duties that support the overall success of the Sales Department.

Ideal Candidate

• Current college student or recent graduate pursuing Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
• Professional, dependable, and eager to learn.
• Interested in exploring a career in hospitality, sales, marketing, or event management.
