Job Opportunity – Anesthesiologist – Iowa

Start Date: ASAP (Immediate need for coverage starting late November through December)

Location: Iowa

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Full-time preferred, minimum 2 weeks per month availability accepted. Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM. Weekend coverage as needed (call only – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd call rotation; 1st call responds approximately 75% of the time). Night call every 3–4 days, 7 days per week. No clinic duties.

Highlights:

• Join a collaborative team of 6 physicians and 2 CRNAs providing comprehensive anesthesia services
• 13 operating rooms with departmental volume of 30–50 cases daily
• Case mix includes general anesthesia, OB (including TOLAC), healthy pediatrics (primarily tonsils and adenoids), and conscious sedation
• No hearts or neurosurgery – focused on general and specialty anesthesia
• EMR transition to EPIC scheduled for May 2025
• Some supervision responsibilities included

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology (Board Eligible not accepted)
• Active Iowa state license or IMLC eligibility required
• ACLS certification (may be obtained during credentialing)
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Clean malpractice history with no settled or pending cases
• Clear background check
• Must be available for all priority coverage weeks in late November and December
• Ongoing availability of at least 2 weeks per month through 2027
