• Schedule: Daytime coverage with clinic hours generally 8:00 AM–4:00 PM; shift duration: 12 Hour Days
• Coverage Need: Approximately 4 days per week
• Patient Mix: About 95% outpatient and 5% inpatient
• EMR: Epic
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $15,600-$16,710

Job Requirements

• Board certified or truly board eligible in Hematology and Oncology preferred
• Oncology board certified candidates with Hem/Onc experience may be considered
• Fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology required
• Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC required
• At least 1 year of Hematology/Oncology experience required
• Ability to cover both Des Moines-area facilities as needed
• Clean malpractice and background history required
• Self-query NPDB report completed within 30 days required

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive hematology/oncology care for adult patients
• Perform patient assessments, follow-up visits, and treatment planning
• Initiate new treatment plans and manage ongoing changes in therapy
• Oversee chemotherapy management and supportive symptom care
• Coordinate referrals for ancillary services and multidisciplinary support
• Provide end-of-life care and compassionate patient communication when needed
• Deliver both outpatient and inpatient coverage based on the weekly schedule
• Participate in call coverage as assigned
