BJC is seeking a Patient Accounts Supervisor to lead a team focused on accounts receivable. This role is responsible for managing escalations and generating reports. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented and has previous patient accounts experience. This position is Monday - Friday, will be remote but will need to attend meetings in person.

Preferred Qualifications

The Patient Accounts Supervisor leads the Patient Financial Services team and its associated work processes, to include billing, cash posting, denials management and customer service. This position serves as a subject matter expert within the department, setting priorities and directing daily operations towards serving our patients. Additionally, the Patient Accounts Supervisor aligns resources to support and achieve departmental goals and objectives.

• Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
• Ensures the resolution of complex insurance, patient accounts and customer service related issues.
• Works with staff to ensure that productivity and quality standards are met in accordance to departmental policies and procedures.
• Audits accounts to ensure accurate and timely resolution of outstanding issues on payor and patient accounts.
• Aligns resources to achieve daily patient accounting operational goals within the work unit and in collaboration with other departments.
• Communicates with staff, patients, internal key stakeholders and insurance companies to ensure operational effectiveness.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: 2-5 years
• Supervisor Experience: No Experience

• Education: Bachelor's Degree
• Supervisor Experience: 2-5 years
