About the Role

The Feed & Food Division is seeking a qualified candidate for an Accounts Receivable Accounting Assistant operations in the Omaha, NE office. This role has primary responsibility for assisting the business in managing and maintaining accurate financial records. This role involves processing cash received, monitoring customer accounts, and ensuring timely collection of payments. The Accounts Receivable Accounting Assistant will work closely with the accounting team to support the overall financial operations of the organization. This role strives for continuous improvement and embraces new technology and changes to processes and procedures. Will consider experienced internal candidates located in offices outside Omaha.

• Process and record customer payments accurately and in a timely manner. Monitor and reconcile customer accounts to ensure timely and accurate payment collection.
• Follow up with customers regarding outstanding payments and resolve and or bring awareness to finance/operations teams any discrepancies or issues. Prepare and distribute weekly/monthly statements to customers.
• Collaborate with the merchant and Controller in reporting accurate financials.
• Work on various project at the direction of controller related to Scoular's CTRM, OTM and other various systems as it relates to the Account receivable functional area.
• Provide training and direction to co-workers upon manager's request, in conjunction with the MA process development lead.

About You

• High school diploma or GED
• Proven experience in accounts receivable or general accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Complex problem-solving skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to transfer knowledge or train team members
• MS Excel proficiency

Preferred

• 2 years of accounting experience
• Prior experience in customer service or dealing with customers is preferred.
