Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical ICU position requiring TX or compact RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Medical-Surgical ICU of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) using block scheduling
• 13-week assignment length
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, central/PICC line management, blood product administration, and ventilator management
• Experience with cardiac drip titration, vasoactive drip titration, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure management
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV insulin protocols

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure in an ICU setting
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
