Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring TX or compact RN license and prior travel experience.
Details
Work in the Medical-Surgical ICU of a hospital setting
Patient ratio of 1:2
Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour block scheduling (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Epic EMR system used for charting
Requirements
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and PALS preferred
Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience preferred
Prior travel nursing experience required
Epic charting experience preferred
Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
Respiratory skills required include ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP management, and suctioning
Experience with continuous IV sedation and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
Renal experience including CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure management required
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
IV insulin protocol experience required
Additional Information
Prior charge nurse experience preferred
Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted as local
Additional restrictions apply for candidates residing in specific nearby Texas counties
Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
Onboarding requires completion of core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
