Scientific Application Test Engineer III - Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry

Scientific Application Test Engineer III role focused on verifying chromatography and mass spectrometry analytical instruments and software. Combines hands-on laboratory experience with software testing expertise in a global Agile team environment to ensure product quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Test analytical instruments, chromatography systems, mass spectrometers, and LC-MS/GC-MS workflows
- Develop and execute verification strategies, test plans, and test cases for instrument features and software capabilities
- Configure, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation independently
- Investigate, reproduce, document, and verify complex instrument and software defects
- Communicate technical findings, quality risks, and release-readiness information to stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physical science, life science, chemistry, or related discipline
- 3+ years experience in product evaluation, software testing, laboratory systems, or analytical instrumentation
- Hands-on experience with chromatography, mass spectrometry, or instrument-control software
- Experience setting up, configuring, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory instruments
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication abilities for complex technical findings
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary, global teams in matrix environments
Compensation: $90,900–$136,350 base
