Duties

Provide CMS policy makers with the basis to make decisions that can impact the future direction of the programs and result in developing new approaches to the financing and general administration of the American medical delivery system.

Review and evaluate proposed models of innovation that address medical and health care quality issues, particularly in the realm of primary care, prescription drugs, and care for vulnerable populations.

Provide medical and scientific information to Agency legislative representatives and assists in clarifying language of legislation related to primary care, care for dual eligible patients in integrated care settings, and insurance programs.

Cultivate and maintain liaison with physician and medical specialty groups to exchange ideas on the current and future direction of medical practice as it relates to CMMI's/CMS' goals and objectives.
