Soda Club is Overthrow Hospitality’s neighborhood wine and pasta bar, bringing together fresh handmade pasta, Roman-style pinsa, an expansive natural wine list, and warm, thoughtful hospitality. We care about the details while keeping the experience relaxed, generous, and welcoming.

We’re looking for a General Manager who can lead a busy dining room, develop a strong team, and bring the same care to the business behind the service.

About the Role

This is a multi-unit management position overseeing Soda Club NYC and additional hospitality concepts within the same building . Each concept has its own identity, with shared expectations for service, communication, and accountability.

You’ll work directly with the Director of Operations , with ongoing support for staffing, training, systems, and operational decisions. You’ll also have the ability to recruit and hire floor managers or an Assistant General Manager to build a management team that provides dependable coverage across the concepts.

The right person is comfortable moving between floor leadership and administrative work, knows how to delegate, and creates an environment where people understand what is expected of them and feel supported in meeting those expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily service across the concepts, overseeing reservations, staffing, table pacing, guest relations, and communication between the dining room, kitchen, and bar.

• Recruit, hire, train, and develop managers and staff, establishing clear responsibilities and consistent service standards.

• Build schedules and management coverage that support strong service while meeting labor targets.

• Run focused preshifts, review end-of-day reports, and participate in weekly leadership meetings with clear priorities and follow-through.

• Oversee timekeeping, payroll preparation, ordering, inventory, and daily reporting.

• Review sales, labor, and operating costs with the Director of Operations, identifying practical opportunities to improve performance.

• Maintain the property, equipment, cleanliness, and food safety standards.

• Partner with culinary and beverage leadership on menu education, service execution, and staff development.

• Resolve guest concerns thoughtfully and cultivate relationships that turn first-time visitors into regulars.

• Set the tone through calm communication, consistent accountability, and active presence on the floor.

What We’re Looking For

• At least three years of restaurant management experience; previous General Manager or senior Assistant General Manager experience preferred.

• Experience overseeing multiple concepts or departments is a plus.

• Strong floor leadership and the ability to make clear decisions during busy service.

• A demonstrated ability to hire, coach, delegate, and develop other leaders.

• Comfort with scheduling, payroll, inventory, cost control, and restaurant reporting.

• Familiarity with POS and reservation systems.

• An interest in wine, food, and continued learning, with enthusiasm for natural wine and plant-based dining.

• Availability for evening and weekend service.
