About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ED/MS Swing RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: One year of MedSurg experience Description: Clinical interview and automatic offer. Candidates must adhere to a 50-mile radius rule. Previous employment in a permanent or PRN capacity within the last 12 months is not allowed. The unit has 22 beds. Staff ratios are 1 to 4 for acute patients and 1 to 6 for swing bed patients. Emergency department ratios are 1 to 4. RNs are required to titrate drips. Common titratable or set rate drips are utilized. Charge nurse responsibilities will be assigned. Nurse aids are present on this unit. RNs are responsible for reading strips. Telemetry is available on the unit. Shifts are 12 hours, with both day and night options available. Weekend work is required every other week. Holidays will also be required every other year. Flexibility in schedule may be necessary. Floating to other areas may be required, including working as charge nurse if needed. Dress code allows for any color scrubs. Specific orientation will be provided. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting is done using a designated system. This position does not require a BSN. The care setting is acute. This position falls within the nursing division.
